Six Month Fixed Term Salaried GP Maternity Cover
Queensbridge Group Practice, a well-established, high-performing NHS GP surgery in the heart of Hackney, serving a diverse community of around 10,200 patients. We are a friendly, supportive training and teaching practice with a strong multi-professional team and a passion for delivering excellent, compassionate care.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient-focused GP to join our fantastic team for a 6-month fixed term post to cover maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, brings fresh ideas, and values continuity of care.
Queensbridge has a strong pedigree in being a training and teaching practice with Foundation and GP trainees as well as medical students, with opportunities for the post-holder to become involved.
The role comprises:
- 5 clinical sessions
- Extra administrative supplement (20%) paid on top of sessional rate [see below]
- 6 weeks annual leave [pro rata]
- 1 week study leave [pro rata]
- Competitive salary: £10,500–£12,000 per session (depending on experience and skill level). Real terms sessional rate with administration supplement: £12,600

About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant, you will work alongside our clinical team to support patients in a variety of settings. You will help deliver outstanding patient care ensuring that every person feels valued, respected, and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting clinicians with patient care and procedures
- Recording observations such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Phlebotomy, Blood Pressure, Wound care dressings, INR.
- Long Term Condition reviews
- Supporting patients with daily needs and mobility where required
- Updating patient records accurately
- Maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards in the workplace
- Stock Taking and ordering of supplies
About You:
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work well in a team and independently
- Experience in a healthcare setting is essential
- Basic IT skills for updating patient records
