Thank you for considering Queensbridge Group Practice. Dr Anna Pilkington is retiring after 32 years being a Partner at Queensbridge Group Practice.
We believe that we offer one of the most rewarding environments to practice medicine. Our practice has a strong track record of attracting inspiring and talented individuals at all levels of the practice team. We endeavour to attract the best possible candidate to join our team.
Queensbridge Group Practice was established in 1987, and we moved to our present purpose-built surgery in 1999. We currently have 10,000 patients and continue to grow. Our patients come from a richly diverse socio-economic and ethnic background. Working with this mixed population brings great rewards but can also be challenging at times. We pride ourselves on providing the highest standard of care for all.
We are a training Practice with GP Registrars and Foundation Year 2 doctors working with us. We also teach medical students from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, UCL, Kings, and Queen Mary’s Medical School.
We provide a broad range of services, including Minor Surgery, Coils/Implants, Baby Clinic & Maternity Services, and a Travel Clinic, and host a wide range of services, including Smoking Cessation, Psychotherapy, Group Therapy, Community Midwife and Baby Clinics, and one of our GPs, Dr Patrick Hutt, is the CCG Lead for Social Prescribing, which is also provided here.
We also deliver a range of Enhanced Services to our patients, including Long-Term Conditions (QOF Plus), Extended Hours, Time to Talk (30 minute consultations for multiple chronic conditions), and End of Life Care.
The practice has two short meetings each day to exchange important information, a weekly clinical meeting, and a fortnightly partners meeting.
Applications should consist of a one sided A4 cover letter and attached CV. Please supply two employment references (or Trainer if you have not had more than one GP position). Please email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please check our essential and desirable criteria. In exceptional cases we may consider candidates that do not fulfil our essential criteria – but please make this case in your cover letter.
If successful at short listing you will be invited to interview. Details of this will be sent to successful candidates closer to the time but we request that you are available for the whole day. Typically the day will consist of a morning mini-interviews/simulated patients. Candidates will then be shortlisted again and successful candidates invited for an interview in the afternoon. In exceptional circumstances we may be able to offer interviews outside the proposed interview date of the 6th of November.
If you are successful at this stage it is likely that you will be invited for further interview, particularly if you have not worked at the practice before, which is likely to involve a shared surgery and case based discussions.
We hope that this robust, but transparent approach, reflects the aspirations we have for patient care and ensuring that the successful candidate joins a supportive clinical environment.
Induction Phase if Appointed
We are very clear that we are looking to recruit a GP partner. The successful candidate will be offered a 6 month salaried position before becoming partner. This is important to ensure that all parties are happy to proceed to signing the partnership agreement and formally taking on the responsibility of Clinical Governance and managing the lease. Our last partner, an external candidate, was appointed by a similar method. Salary for this period will be at the top end of the Salaried Scale – reflecting the non-clinical duties that you will be expected to take up.
